Our Story
RBH builds bridges of love, culture, and growth for the next generation.
The seeds of our organization were planted in 2012 at the New Rainbow House in Brooklyn, where we explored ways to support families through cultural and community education. We saw many Chinese parents working hard away from home, facing language barriers and limited resources, while their children lacked consistent home education and cultural connection. Out of care and commitment, RBH was officially founded in 2020 as a “bridge of connection” for families and community.
That bridge first appeared in 2018 with the RBH Lunar New Year Gala, bringing families, schools, and local groups together in celebration. The following year’s outdoor children’s fashion shows encouraged kids to express themselves with confidence. Since then, our annual Chinese Heritage Kids Fashion Show and Midsummer Night’s Dream community dinner have become beloved traditions—celebrating culture, sharing resources, and fostering belonging.
RBH has now served nearly a thousand families through cultural programs, arts education, and academic support. From local farm trips to journeys as far as Disney World, children have learned to explore, cooperate, and grow with pride in who they are.
We believe that when a child is seen, encouraged, and supported, confidence blooms—and when families shine together, the community grows stronger.
